The Coolest Car Gadgets to Buy for Dad

Car Gadgets for Dad - Lewisburg, WV

Whether you’re shopping for Father’s Day, a birthday, or another special occasion, check out these cool car gadgets for dads. Even if your dad is hard to shop for or already has it all, there’s nothing like a new tool or toy to put a smile on his face.

Jump starter kit

Give your dad a jump starter kit so he’ll never have to rely on passers-by for a jump again if his car battery dies. Better yet, he’ll be equipped to save the day if someone else’s vehicle won’t start.

Tire pressure tools

Help your dad keep his tires properly inflated by buying him an easy-to-use digital tire pressure gauge. For a more high-tech gift, consider a tire pressure sensor kit, which will allow him to monitor the status of each tire via his smartphone (or an in-car display) and a Bluetooth® connection.

Key tracker

Does your dad have a hard time keeping track of his car keys? Get him a Bluetooth® key tracker. Once this handy gadget is clipped to his keychain and connected wirelessly to his phone, he’ll never have to worry about misplaced keys again.

Smartphone mount

If your dad relies on his smartphone for in-car music and navigation, buy him a phone mount to help him keep his eyes on the road. Most mounts attach to the windshield or dash, using a magnet or a tension arm to hold the phone at eye level.

Ford Makes 50,000 COVID-19 Ventilators with GE Healthcare

Ford is providing its manufacturing expertise in the fight against COVID-19. With a partnership with GE Healthcare, they announced that they will produce up to 50,000 COVID-19 ventilators. Their goal is 1,500 ventilators by the end of April, 12,000 by the end of May, and 50,000 by the fourth of July. This goes in tandem with the goal of the government to get 100,000 ventilators made in 100 days.

GE Healthcare used the ventilator design by Airon Corp. Airon Corp. specializes in pneumatic life support products. The design is useful because it doesn’t run on electricity. Instead, it uses air pressure to run, making it easy to set up and run anywhere. And it addresses the needs that severe COVID-19 patients are having.

Initially, Ford went down to Florida to collaborate with Airon’s factories and boost production. Now, they have started using the Ford plant in Ypsilanti, Michigan to quickly churn out the ventilators on a grand scale. Airon usually produces three ventilators a day in their normal manufacturing. With Ford, they are making up to 7,200 a week. The production is around the clock, with 500 volunteers working three shifts.

“Just as Ford in the last century moved its manufacturing might seamlessly from auto to tank production during World War II, the Ford team is working with GE Healthcare to use its awesome engineering and manufacturing capabilities to voluntarily help this nation solve one of its most pressing problems,” said Peter Navarro, the White House Defense Production Act Coordinator .

Normally, we’d encourage you to visit the dealership to check out some of Ford’s top-notch vehicles. However, safety is more important. Stay home if you can and visit Greenbrier Ford after the COVID-19 crisis has passed!

2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E Preview: Everything We Know So Far

2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E in Lewisburg, WV

Ford is making big changes to its lineup next year. In addition to the much-awaited return of the Ford Bronco small pickup truck and exciting redesigns to the Explorer and Escape SUVs, Ford is introducing a new member to the family: the Mustang Mach-E.

Based on the Ford Mustang Mach-E previews we’ve been given thus far, here’s what we can expect.

Taking the name and similar styling as the legendary pony car, this brand-new all-electric crossover SUV will blend thrilling performance with cutting-edge eco-friendly engineering. Named after the long-running Mach 1 performance package once offered on the Mustang, the Mustang Mach-E will offer performance-oriented options like dual engines, all-wheel drive, and extended range batteries.

According to Ford, the Mustang Mach-E can generate 255 horsepower and 306 lb-ft of torque while simultaneously achieving up to 230 miles of driving range. The available GT version will crank that performance even higher, soaring to 459 horsepower and 612 pound-feet of torque. Thanks to the instant torque that an electric powertrain provides, the crossover will be able to blast from 0-60 mph in under 4 seconds. The Mustang Mach-E proves that “electric” doesn’t mean “less fun to drive.”

Check out the Ford website for more information on the Mach-E. In the meantime, contact Greenbrier Ford if you’re interested in ordering your own Mustang Mach-E.
